1. Install Plugin

Here's a brief information about how to install this plugin

Login into your wp administration, then go on the "Plugins" page.
Click "Add new" link and upload the plugin (WP_Tour_Builder.zip).
Then activate the plugin.

2. Getting started

Here's a brief information about how to use this plugin

In the lateral menu, click "Flat Tour Builder" settings link. On this page, you can define main colors and settings of your tours .

Now, in the "Flat Tour Builder" menu, click "Tours" submenu.
Click "Add New" button.

  • As title, enter "My first tour"
  • In the "Page url" field, enter the complete url of one of your pages
  • Save

Now, in the "Flat Tour Builder" menu, click "Steps".
Click "Add New" button.

  • In the "Title" field, enter "Step 1"
  • In the "Type" list, select "Text"
  • Enter a short text in the "Content" field.
  • Save

Now, return in "steps" submenu, and click "Add New" button again .

  • In the "Title" field, enter "Title tooltip"
  • In the "Type" list, select "Tooltip"
  • Click on the button "Selection"
  • You now see your website. Click on the button "Define Target", then click on your website title
  • The title is now highlighted. Confirm the selection clicking the button "Yes"
  • In the "Content" field, write "I'm the website title"
  • Save

Now, go to the page you selected :)
You now know how to create an helper.

3. Options details

  • Title : the tour name
  • Start method :
    • Start automatically : The tour starts soon as the user enters the page
    • On click on an element : The tour starts when user click on a specified element
  • Run Once : (only if auto start is selected). The tour starts only once per session
  • On website or admin ?: Choose if the tour shows on the backend or the frontend
  • Target DOM Element : (only if start on click is selected). Sets the element that the user must click to start the wizard.
  • Page url : Lets start the tour on a given page. This field is automatically filled when a dom element is selected. Leave empty to use the assistant on every pages.
  • Tour : Associate this step to an helper
  • Order : The steps were initiated in the order defined.
  • Title : the step name. Visualy used if you select dialog or text type.
  • Type :
    • Tooltip : a tooltip is assigned to an element of the website.
    • Dialog : this is a modal popup window.
    • Text : it is a text that appears on a dark background.
  • Target DOM Element : (only if you select tooltip type). Sets the element that the tooltip will show.
  • Position : (only if you select tooltip type). Do you want to display the tooltip above or below the element ?
  • Content : the content of the tooltip, dialog or text. If you choose dialog, you can use the full wordpress editor, and include pictures
  • Overlay : Active or disable the dark backgroup for this step
  • Action to continue :
    • Delay : It moves to the next step after a specified delay
    • Click : It moves to the next step after a click on the element (tooltip target element, or dialog buttons)
  • Button "Continue" text : (only if you select dialog type). Defines the text of the main button of the dialog. When the user click it, the tour continue.
  • Button "Stop" text : (only if you select dialog type). Defines the text of the secondary button of the dialog. When the user click it, the tour is stopped.
