B) Installation - top

Installation

Download the ZIP package from CodeCanyon.
Open WordPress admin and go to Plugins -> Add New -> Upload. Browse for the ZIP file 5sec-snow-plugin.zip on your computer and hit “Install Now”.
Activate the plugin.

Upgrade

Deactivate and delete the plugin in your WP admin -> Plugins.
Use the Add New -> Upload function to upload the new plugin ZIP file.
Activate the plugin.

Post install 5sec tutorial

Open Appearance - 5sec Snow
Set status to "enabled" and save
Snow will be visible on all your pages

5sec Snow requires WordPress v3.1.

B) Usage - top

General settings

Status - if enabled all users will see the snow except those who clicked the "Turn off snow" button on your site.
Flakes type - choose between multiple flake types depending on your preference and site design.
Number of flakes - maximum number of flakes on the screen. Actual number at any given moment can be about 10% smaller.
Speed - maximum flake falling speed. Not all flakes fall at the same rate. Speed can vary up to 50%.
Wind - amount of wind that pushes flakes left/right.
Melting - if enabled flakes melt on the bottom of the screen, otherwise they just fall trough.
Rotation - if enabled flakes will rotate left and right while falling.

Advanced settings

Show snow until - snow will stop displaying on midnight on the selected date.
Flakes are links - you can choose how many flakes are clickable and enter a custom URL or a JS function call.
Display "turn off snow" button - enables users to disable snow on your site. Button HTML can be customized to your liking. For button href parameter use {LINK}.
Snow only on front page - if checked snow will only be visible on the front page ()
Disable on small screens - if you don't want to use the snow on small screens enter the minimum width and height of the screen. On all screens smaller than that snow will be hidden.
Disable admin notice - when 5sec Snow is enabled there's a notice in admin's header. This option disables it.
Include jQuery - disable this option only if your theme has jQuery hardcoded (which it shouldn't have!) and you have problems because jQuery gets included twice. Otherwise 5sec Snow will detect jQuery and include it only if it needs to. Default: checked.
Use minified version of snow JS - your site will load faster if you use the minified version but don't enable the option if you're using W3 Cache or any similar plugin.

Snow is not working

5sec Snow requires proper implementation of wp_head() and wp_footer() function calls. Please make sure your theme has them. More info.

Will it work on my theme?

Yes! 5sec Snow works with all themes.

Will it work with my plugins?

Yes! 5sec Snow works with all plugins.

Will this plugin slow my site down?

As far as WordPress concerned no, but please note that having a large amount of flakes can slow some browsers down.

Is it SEO friendly?

5sec Snow does not have any affect on SEO.

Flakes are falling behind Flash objects

Make sure your Flash object has wmode set to transparent and the problem will be fixed.

Flakes do not rotate in IE

Unfortunately IE does not support image rotating.
